Richard Ostergard says:
I do not know about Ken Keteles’ qualifications in air conditioning, but I can certify that he is dangerous when installing gas. I hired him to install a fire place insert into my existing fireplace. Out of 10 days he was on contract, he showed up 3 days out of 10 that he was on contract and never had the right tools with him. He left every one of the three days he was on the job for numerous personal reasons and never told us when he was coming back. After 1 week, I took to calling him every day to tell him we were at the house waiting on him. He’d send a text saying he was on his way and never show up. Aside from being unreliable, he is dangerous. He did not have d rill bit long enough to go through my fireplace, so he called in an outside contractor to give him advice about how to get into the fireplace with a new gas pipe. That young man knew what he was doing. Ken then told me he planned to finish the gas pipe install with PVC because he saw a stainless steel flexible pipe used on a tankless hot water heater under my house, that he assumed was PVC. I had my misgivings before but this clinched it. He clearly had no clue and to let him proceed would place my house and my family’s life in jeopardy. I dismissed him and hired another contractor who completed the work in 2 days with a permit that Ken never applied for. I would never recommend this man or his company and advise you for your personal safety not to hire him for any gas work.
